Paul Costelloe Autumn Winter 2010

The opening catwalk show of London Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2010 by Paul Costelloe , was simply an outstanding start.

A very rustic take on eighties power dressing. The colour palette expressed browns, whites, creams and topped up with some beautiful golds. This paired with a very powerful and strong silhouette brought an architectural element to the collection. Exaggerated shoulders mixed with fine cut shapes and sharp linings created one of Paul's fiercest collections yet.

Skin-tight, patent and wetlook leggings offset the Elizabethan stylings and influences to add that extra level to the collection. It was also soon to see that the black and golds were to be a re-occuting theme throughout the whole of London Fashion Week.

Also, Paul Costelloe, amongst other designers paid tribute to Alexander McQueen. In his show notes it stated:
"There will obviously be a dark cloud hanging over this season's London Fashion Week and I, as one of the many designers showing, will feel a great sadness at this loss. Alexander McQueen will be greatly missed."
