This season Nicole Farhi presented a collection full of upbeat, light and flowing pieces, all around considerably more optimistic than her last few seasons. The collection had a simple, yet relaxed feel, with very clean lines, oversized skirts and T-Shirt dresses the staple of her pieces. This allowed the overall shape of the female form to shine through, adding to it a classic touch of natural sexiness. Cotton turn up shorts and three quarter length trousers in block colours added to the beach effect, you can see that all of these looks could be worn extremely well with bikinis underneath them; emphasising the summer look. Prints perform a key role to Farhi’s collection this season as she has taken the girly approach of the late 80s pastel palette. A classic sign of innocence and sweetness. Faded pinks, orange and purple are blended in square and rectangular patterns. Match these with dark loosely tied leather belts and tanned oversized cotton shirts and you create an image of Miami sunset, that luxurious beach house, the upbeat Miami vibe, an effortless class that has defined generations before us.- Sam Mason
