Eye’s up girls, this season Christopher Kane’s new collection is looking towards Brigitte Bardot for his inspiration. Already being dubbed by the fashion pack as the check collection.Blue, Brown & Pink gingham patterns on chiffon were the underlying theme throughout the show as well as dresses with thigh slits creating a front separated panel effect. Chiffon also played a large part in the collection as Kane used it to give a tailored style and bringing sophistication to each piece, while the high waisted skirts and checked tops bring a positively “roll in the hay” “summer love” feeling to the collection. Tailored blazers and suit jackets were interspersed with fan pleated dresses to accentuate the femininity of them. Kane also made use of panelling in the upper bodywork and uses contrasting check colours to bring a defined look to some of the dresses, adding fluidity when the models walked. Our favourite from the whole collection has to be the floral printed, black chiffon dress accompanied by a tailored suit jacket. Which just added that little bit more sophistication to the whole ensemble.Overall an empowering, yet incredibly feminine collection that will be flaunted this summer, giving fashionistas a refreshing choice for the hot summer months.-Sam Mason
